Dale Earnhardt Jr. is already looking forward to the excitement of commentating on races for NBC.
The end of the 2023 season marked the end of Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s time as a commentator for NBC Sports. He is preparing to join the Amazon-TNT team for the 2025 season, where he will serve as the lead commentator for 10 races that will be broadcast in the middle of the season as part of the new media rights agreement signed.
During this season, Dale is taking a break from broadcasting and has no responsibilities in that regard. Although he has the option to make partial appearances or as a guest commentator, he has chosen not to do so. However, he recently discussed the possibility of returning to NBC in the future on his podcast.

Junior made it clear that his departure from NBC was not due to any issues with the network or his fellow commentators. He acknowledged that if he continues to have a long career as a commentator and NBC remains involved in the sport for a long period of time, there is a great possibility that he may return to commentate on races for them.
During the same podcast, Junior also shared how he feels about not being on the track and listening to someone else commentate on the races. He admitted that it feels strange not being in the booth and praised his former team for doing an excellent job.
It is undeniable that Dale Jr. is missing the excitement of commentating on races, just like many of his fans. However, they can rest assured knowing that he will be back next season, albeit in a different role. It will be interesting to see how his new broadcasting role unfolds for Junior.
