Cupra revela o Born VZ que chega com 326 cv

Cupra has just unveiled the new top-of-the-range version of its first electric model. It is the Born VZ (short for Veloz), which receives a power increase and other updates.

This means that the sportier Born model now comes with 326 horsepower, which represents a 40% increase compared to the e-Boost version, and 545 Nm of maximum torque, 75% more than any other version of the Cupra compact.

These numbers allow the Born VZ to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds, one second faster than the e-Boost version, making this model the fastest of the vehicles based on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform.

The top speed of the Born VZ has also been revised and is now electronically limited to 200 km/h, which is 40 km/h more than the e-Boost version.

Cupra has revealed that the power increase of the new Born version does not sacrifice efficiency, as the sportier version is equipped with a 79 kWh battery, which allows a range of 570 km, and can receive fast charging up to 170 kW, enabling a recharge from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes.

The transmission system updates are accompanied by an extensive chassis revision, which includes new rear dampers and springs, as well as a revised front suspension, in order to offer better body control.

On the other hand, the steering system has also been updated to provide a more sporty feel, while the braking system has been readjusted.

The new Born VZ stands out from the rest of the range with two exclusive body color options, Dark Forest, along with the Midnight Black option, as well as new designs for the 20” wheels and a dark copper VZ logo finish.

Inside, the Born VZ debuts an infotainment system with a 12.9” screen, along with a new backlit touch bar to adjust the temperature of the climate control system.

The high-performance model from Cupra also features a new optional high-fidelity sound system with 425 watts, 10 speakers, developed in collaboration with Sennheiser.

Also worth noting is the focus on performance in the cabin, emphasized by the sport seats that use recycled Seaqual fabric and Dinamica with 73% recycled polyester.

“With the Cupra Born VZ, we elevate the performance of this model, demonstrating once again that electrification and performance go perfectly together,” says Wayne Griffiths, CEO of Cupra.
