Christian Horner enfrenta queixa formal.

Jos Verstappen, father of Max Verstappen, expressed his disapproval to Horner, suggesting that he portrays himself as a victim and should consider resigning from his position. According to the BBC, a woman who is currently suspended by Red Bull filed a formal complaint against Christian Horner, the CEO and Team Principal of the team. The complaint, which focuses on Horner’s behavior, was referred to the FIA’s ethics committee, the governing body of Formula 1. Despite previous investigations by an independent lawyer that cleared Horner of any wrongdoing, the FIA issued a statement emphasizing the confidentiality and autonomy of its process, thus refraining from commenting on specific complaints.

This controversy arises amidst Red Bull’s impressive performance in the 2024 Formula 1 season, with Max Verstappen winning the first two Grand Prix races and Sergio Perez securing second place in both. However, the team’s achievements have been overshadowed by the ongoing dispute involving Horner. After the complaint was filed against him, confidential information about the case circulated within the F1 paddock, intensifying scrutiny on Horner, including aspects of his personal life. Horner, publicly supported by his wife Geri Horner and Red Bull’s majority shareholder Chalerm Yoovidhya, called for an end to the scrutiny, especially regarding his marriage and family. During the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, he expressed the impact the situation had on his family, emphasizing the importance of focusing on the races.

Jos Verstappen, father of Max Verstappen, criticized Horner, suggesting that he portrays himself as a victim and should consider resigning from his position. Amid this situation, Max Verstappen finds himself in an uncomfortable position between his father and Horner, leading to speculation about his future with the team and possible changes. The future of Helmut Marko, an important figure within Red Bull, has also been questioned due to the turmoil. However, Max Verstappen expressed his support for Marko, indicating his intention to remain loyal to the team and Marko’s ongoing involvement. This internal conflict within Red Bull highlights the challenges faced by the team off the track, despite their impressive performance on it.
