After the retirement announcement at Iowa Speedway, the NASCAR community has been curious about who will replace the veteran in the No. 19 Toyota Camry. Several drivers have been considered for the position, with Stewart Haas Racing leading the group. The rumors were confirmed in New Hampshire.
Prior to this week’s Cup qualifying at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Christopher Bell was asked about his leadership role at JGR. In responding to the question, he accidentally let slip that Chase Briscoe will be joining the No. 19 team in the 2025 season, discussing the potential marketing of an official announcement from the driver.

Chase Briscoe has now reacted to his new teammate’s mistake. He took a lighthearted approach and joked about joining JGR in the 2024 season. Briscoe even humorously mentioned taking over the No. 9 Chevy.
The Ford driver is not upset that Christopher Bell spoiled his official announcement. He noted that most people already knew where he was going in 2025 and were just waiting for the formal announcement.
The JGR announcement will now come earlier than expected, as the secret has been revealed. However, JGR can use Bell’s slip-up to their advantage by creating viral memes or content for the announcement.
