BMW revealed on social media a teaser of the new iX3, the first mass-produced model of the Neue Klasse, which the German brand will present next week at the Munich Motor Show.
The image shows the front lighting signature of the new iX3, making it clear that the front section of the new electric model will be based on the design of the Vision New Class X, which BMW presented last year.
Unlike the concept, the production version, according to the revealed teaser, will be equipped with conventional exterior mirrors.
It is already known that BMW’s new SUV will feature the Gen6 platform, which promises a significant gain in terms of range, with the brand announcing a range of up to 800 km. Additionally, it has an 800V architecture that will allow for fast charging of 400 kW, enabling the addition of more than 350 km (WLTP) in just 10 minutes.
The new platform also allows for the use of lighter and more efficient motors, capable of accommodating up to four motors, one for each wheel, for the high-end variants.
The new line of models Neue Klasse will also feature functionalities such as Vehicle to Load (V2L) which allows powering electrical devices, as well as Vehicle to Home (V2H) which supplies energy to a house.
BMW also revealed that the new generation of the iX3 will be equipped with Panoramic iDrive, which displays all relevant driving information in the driver’s ideal line of sight and maximizes ergonomic efficiency and safety.
