BMW apresenta o renovado Série 3 com mais potência e design atualizado
The BMW revealed this Wednesday, the renewed 3 Series sedan and Touring, which come with more power and an updated design according to the latest models of the brand. Starting with the exterior, the renewed 3 Series features a revised color palette that includes Arctic Race Blue metallic and Vegas Red metallic. In addition, two new BMW Individual colors are now available: Frozen Pure Grey metallic and Frozen Portimão Blue metallic.

At first glance, it will not be easy to check the changes introduced in the renewed Series 3. However, BMW has made it known that the models equipped with the M Sport package, which is standard on the M340i, are equipped with 19’’ inch M light alloy wheels with a double-spoke design that gives an even more dynamic view of the model. In addition, as an option, wheels with two-tone or Jet Black finish are available.

In the interior, BMW has equipped the renewed Series 3 with a set of advanced features, both in the Sedan and in the Touring variant, where a new leather steering wheel with gearbox paddles is highlighted as standard.

The introduction of the latest generation BMW iDrive with QuickSelect based on the BMW 8.5 Operating System in the renewed Series 3 now allows for optimized operation of ventilation and climate control functions.

The premium character of the models is highlighted by high-quality materials and new interior finishing elements. The optional Luxury Sensatec instrument panel features an even more refined surface structure and decorative stitching in a contrasting color.

BMW designers have also adjusted the trim, as the open-pore wood finish, Fineline Light, is now standard on the 330i, while the M340i receives Aluminum Rhombicle. Optional finishes in brushed aluminum and carbon fiber are also available.

In terms of engines, BMW has announced that the M340i is equipped with a new 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder engine that features a 48V mild-hybrid system and delivers a power output of 391 hp and 539 Nm of maximum torque, representing an increase of 4 hp and 39 Nm compared to its predecessor.

The engine is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission, which delivers power to all four wheels and allows acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h.

As for the 330i version, it comes equipped with a 2.0-liter, turbocharged, four-cylinder engine that has been enhanced and still features 48V mild-hybrid technology, maintaining a power output of 259 hp and maximum torque of 400 Nm.

Regarding the plug-in hybrid versions, they are characterized by even more optimized efficiency and considerably greater electric range. Thus, the 330e Sedan and 330e Touring models are available with classic rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, and equipped with a four-cylinder gasoline engine and an electric motor integrated into the 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission, generating a combined power output of 292 hp.

The high-voltage battery is new and now has a capacity of 19.5 kWh, resulting in a significant increase in electric-only range of up to 101 kilometers according to the WLTP cycle.

The electrified 3 Series is also BMW’s first plug-in hybrid model with a new three-phase AC charging unit with a power of up to 11 kW. BMW announces that the battery can be charged from 0 to 100% in 2h15m.

Note also the work done on the chassis, which according to BMW has improved dynamic capability and comfort with a series of specific updates. The installation of stiffer supports connecting the rear shocks to the body is just one of the measures used to achieve this. In addition, the steering system has also been revised to allow for less effort in comfort mode during daily driving.
