Albon confessa que componentes desatualizados da Williams F1 prejudicaram Sargeant em Mônaco.

Logan Sargeant, a driver for Williams Racing, faced setbacks in the Monaco Grand Prix due to the team using old parts. Williams has been dealing with a shortage of parts this season as they work to revamp their car’s concept. The team was without a spare chassis until the sixth race in Miami, and Sargeant even missed out after Albon’s accident in Australia. Although the team now has a third chassis available each weekend, updates have only been applied to one car. In Monaco, Albon received an updated rear wing that helped him score points, while Sargeant had to deal with last season’s rear wing, resulting in a 15th place finish. Albon acknowledged that using different parts affected Sargeant’s performance and believes he would have made it to Q2 if he had the same updates. Williams is aware of the issue and plans to provide updates for Sargeant in the Spanish Grand Prix. Sargeant recognized the challenges of showcasing his skills when both drivers are not using the same car, but he trusts that the team can calculate the differences between them. It is still unclear how often this situation occurs, but Sargeant’s contract expires at the end of the season and his chances of retaining his place alongside Albon seem slim, as Williams is in negotiations with other drivers.
