After the DS 7 Élysée, designed for the Presidency of the French Republic, DS Automobiles has now unveiled the DS 7 Vauban, an armored plug-in hybrid model, based on the DS 7 E-Tense 4×4 300 and featuring armored protection, a chassis lengthened by around twenty centimetres behind the central pillar and special equipment.
Designed as a special protection vehicle by the Welp Group, this model is equipped with aramid fibers – a class of lightweight materials especially resistant to shocks and heat – safety glass that reinforces the vehicle to a VPAM 4 protection level.
The transformation of the interior was supervised by upholsterers, thus guaranteeing a high level of refinement.
DS has made it known that in addition to the additional equipment available in the catalog, there are groups of options, both for protection, such as automatic fire extinguishers, closed-circuit ventilation, siren and intercom, etc., and for passenger comfort, such as additional USB sockets, reading lights, among other vehicle customization options.
The French brand also said that the DS 7 Vauban, which owes its name to the fortifications built at the end of the 17th century, which are classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, will be available from April 2024, but did not reveal the price of this exclusive, armored model
