Verstappen pode trocar para a Mercedes: 2026 é considerado um ano crucial por insider

Alleged turbulence within Red Bull, potentially including the departure of Adrian Newey, increases Mercedes’ confidence in attracting Verstappen.

Speculations surround the possible transfer of Max Verstappen from Red Bull to Mercedes, with insiders indicating that 2026 could be a crucial moment.

Toto Wolff, the head of Mercedes, openly expressed his desire to recruit Verstappen as Lewis Hamilton’s successor, as Hamilton is set to join Ferrari next season.

Rumors of instability within Red Bull, which may involve Adrian Newey’s departure from the team, strengthen Mercedes’ optimism in attracting Verstappen.

Albert Fabrega, an F1 technical expert, emphasized Verstappen’s reluctance to leave a winning team during an interview on the F1 Nation podcast.

Fabrega stated that he would not abandon a car that is consistently winning, highlighting the strategic chess game currently taking place in the Formula 1 driver market.

Verstappen’s current dominance and Red Bull’s promising future performance until 2025 discourage any immediate transfer.

However, Fabrega hinted at the possibility of a potential change in 2026, reflecting uncertainties about Verstappen’s long-term loyalty.

Tom Clarkson echoed Fabrega’s sentiments, noting Verstappen’s apparent satisfaction within Red Bull and dismissing speculations of an immediate departure.

Clarkson emphasized Verstappen’s own recognition of his greater satisfaction with the team and car compared to previous seasons.

The upcoming review of F1 regulations in 2026 adds another layer of complexity to the situation.

Speculations surround the future of Adrian Newey and his potential departure from Red Bull could have a significant impact on the overall landscape.

Newey’s technical expertise has played a crucial role in Verstappen’s championship successes, which could influence his decision.

Mercedes, along with other teams, is closely monitoring Newey’s potential availability, further complicating Verstappen’s future.

Even before the possibility of Newey’s departure, Wolff hinted at the existence of “other factors” that could influence Verstappen’s decision beyond immediate performance.

The intricate combination of technical developments, team dynamics, and regulatory changes will shape Verstappen’s future trajectory, with 2026 being a crucial moment in his career.
