Renovado Citroën Ami ganha nova imagem inspirada no 2CV

Stellantis intends to double the production capacity of its factory in Kenitra, Morocco, in the coming months, aiming for an annual production of 535,000 vehicles.

The confirmation was made by the director of operations for the Middle East and Africa, Samir Cherfan, who made it clear that the factory will increase the production of electric vehicles, including the Citroen Ami, the Opel Rocks-e, and the Fiat Topolino, from 20,000 to 70,000, Samir Cherfan said at the inauguration of the factory’s expansion, after the brand completed the expansion of that production unit.

The expansion works of Stellantis’ factory in Morocco resulted from an investment of €1.2 billion and will allow the brand to produce not only electric cars but also hybrid engines and three-wheeled vehicles.

The Stellantis production unit in Kenitra was inaugurated in 2019, and in 2020 it reached a production of 200,000. With the factory’s expansion, Stellantis contributed to Morocco’s goal of surpassing 1 million vehicles produced in that country.

Morocco’s automotive industry exports increased by 6.3%, reaching a record of $17 billion in 2024, according to official data. It is worth noting that in addition to Stellantis, Morocco also has two Renault factories and suppliers of parts for the French car manufacturer.
