Presidente da FIA, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, teria tentado atrasar a aprovação do GP de Las Vegas.

Mohammed Ben Sulayem, the president of the FIA, has been embroiled in controversy following allegations made by a whistleblower within the organization. Ben Sulayem had already faced criticism for allegedly interfering in a race result, and is now being investigated for his alleged involvement in the 2023 race. However, new reports have emerged with a surprising claim about the 62-year-old man.

According to the BBC, Ben Sulayem is accused of trying to prevent the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix from taking place. This highly anticipated Formula 1 weekend in Sin City was expected to be a glamorous and lucrative event for the sport, and its cancellation would have been unjustified. There seemed to be no valid reason for the FIA president to try to cancel the race, as F1 had already anticipated its success from the start.

Furthermore, the whistleblower revealed that Ben Sulayem allegedly tried to find faults and create issues on the track to deny the license for the Las Vegas Grand Prix. The Grand Prix weekend had followed all FIA protocols and had initially been approved. However, it appears that Ben Sulayem attempted to manufacture track problems in a bid to cancel the race.

Despite Ben Sulayem’s efforts, the Las Vegas Grand Prix went ahead and proved to be a great success. However, the inaugural race faced some issues throughout the weekend. During the first practice session, there was an accident involving a driver and an open manhole cover, causing a delay. Nevertheless, the race provided thrilling action for fans.

The alleged actions of Ben Sulayem regarding the previous Formula 1 season have been the subject of much discussion. An independent investigation by the Ethics Committee has been launched and is expected to be completed in four to six weeks. Until then, the season will continue as planned, without interruptions.

Neither the FIA nor Ben Sulayem have made public statements on the matter. It is possible that the FIA is working behind the scenes to address the situation and will only release information once the problem is resolved. Ben Sulayem’s career may be seriously in jeopardy if he is found guilty of the charges against him. Only time will tell what the outcome of this situation will be.
