Costa acredita que a United Autosports teve azar com a bandeira vermelha durante a perseguição ao pódio da LMGT3.

Nicolas Costa from team #59 McLaren 720S LMGT3 EVO believes that United Autosports were unlucky with the timing of the red flag during the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. This unfortunate moment prevented them from competing for a place on the podium. Costa explained that they were consistently three laps short on fuel and there was nothing they could do to overcome this challenge. They tried to save fuel, but the race distance was too great to make a difference without any yellow flags or safety car periods. In the end, luck played a significant role in their result.

Costa expressed conflicting feelings about the red flag situation. On one hand, he wants the fans to witness the full six-hour race they came to see, as they are the ones supporting the team. However, on the other hand, if the race had not restarted, they would have secured a place on the podium. This leaves Costa with mixed emotions about the situation.

The third round of the FIA World Endurance Championship experienced a long red flag interruption that lasted 1 hour and 44 minutes. This additional duration was added to the race restart. The United Autosports car #59 was in a tight battle for victory against the #85 Iron Dames Lamborghini Huracan LMGT3 EVO2, which had established a comfortable lead in the LMGT3 class despite interruptions caused by safety car periods and red flags.

Early in the race, driver James Cottingham, who had climbed from fifth to fourth position, made a good start and fought to secure second place. The #85 car, driven by Sarah Bovy and her teammates, managed to extend their lead to 40 seconds. However, when the red flag was deployed, the #59 car was in third place, as the #95 car had retired due to suspected gearbox issues.

In the final stages of the race, driver Gregoire Saucy, who was at the wheel in the last stint, and Michelle Gatting, from the Iron Dames team, had to go to the pits due to fuel issues. Unfortunately, both cars were unable to maintain their positions at the front of the pack after the red flag, allowing the Manthey Racing Porsche 911 #92 to secure the first two positions. Car #85 finished in fourth place, while car #59 settled for fifth place when the race ended.
