この成果は、XCIENT燃料電池が2020年10月からスイスでフリートサービスを開始してからわずか3年8か月で達成され、XCIENT燃料電池が驚異的な累積走行距離である10,000,000キロメートルを超えたとして、韓国のブランドにとって重要なマイルストーンとされています。
現在、スイスでは合計48台のXCIENT燃料電池トラックが稼働しており、2つの90 kW水素燃料電池システム（合計180 kWの電力）と350 kWの電動モーターを使用しており、最大400キロメートル以上の航続距離を実現しています。
ディーゼルトラックのフリートと比較すると、10,000,000キロメートルの累積走行距離で約6,300トンの二酸化炭素を排出するところを、XCIENT燃料電池電気トラックは大幅な炭素排出削減を実現しています。
A Hyundai estimates that this reduction is equivalent to the amount of carbon absorbed annually by 700,000 pine trees, or the creation of a pine forest with 508 hectares (5 million square meters).
All XCIENT Fuel Cell trucks operating in Switzerland use only “green hydrogen,” with no carbon emissions during the production process, which contributes to the creation of a sustainable hydrogen value chain in Europe.
Hyundai also revealed that it is not only supplying XCIENT Fuel Cell trucks in Switzerland, but also actively supporting and participating in the creation of a hydrogen commercial ecosystem, which includes the entire production value chain, charging infrastructure, and hydrogen consumption.
