Tesla has announced the expansion of its range with the introduction of the Model Y Long Range rear-wheel drive, the fourth version of the electric SUV that promises a range of up to 600 km in the WLTP cycle.
The model, available for €48,990, is positioned between the entry-level version of the range, also with rear-wheel drive, and the Long Range Dual Motor and Performance models, both with all-wheel drive.
Produced at the Gigafactory in Berlin, Germany, the new Tesla Model Y Long Range rear-wheel drive is equipped with an electric motor with 299 hp, powered by a 75 kWh capacity battery that can be recharged at a maximum power of up to 250 kW.
These numbers allow the new Model Y to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, reach a top speed of 217 km/h, and have an energy consumption of 14.9 kWh/100 km as per the model’s homologation.
