Gray Gaulding, a part-time NASCAR driver, was arrested by police in North Carolina. As a result, he was suspended from participating in any NASCAR events. Gaulding competed in 11 races in the NASCAR Xfinity Cup Series in 2023 and was considered a promising talent in his early years, but has since fallen in the rankings.
On Tuesday, April 2, at 7:17 am, Eastern time, Gray Gaulding was detained by the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Department on charges of domestic violence. He was subsequently released on bail at 12:42 on the same day, according to reports.
NASCAR suspended Gray Gaulding indefinitely after his arrest. Although he has not raced this year, he still holds a NASCAR license. Gaulding was arrested on Tuesday morning on a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence. According to the incident report, two people were charged after an alleged domestic altercation.
Currently, no trial date has been set for Gaulding’s case. NASCAR stated that he will remain suspended from racing until a verdict is reached. The future of Gaulding, a former Rick Ware Racing (RWR) driver, remains uncertain.

Gaulding’s ex-girlfriend accused him of assault by strangulation after he withdrew from the race in Bristol for personal reasons. Gaulding was subsequently released on bail and attended trials.
