Conway acknowledged that other teams, such as Porsche Penske and Ferrari, have found a method to quickly activate their tires, something that Toyota has not fully mastered yet. He expressed the team’s determination to improve in this area. During the qualifying session for the 6 Hours of Imola, Kamui Kobayashi secured sixth position for the Toyota GR010 Hybrid #7, while Brendon Hartley achieved the eighth best time in the Toyota #8. Conway also mentioned that the WEC tire regulations play a role in this issue. With limited tire options, teams are required to make a single choice, making tire heating crucial. Despite this challenge, Toyota remains committed to finding a solution.
