Kyle Busch had a hectic day at the North Wilkesboro All Star race. The winner of the 2023 Daytona 500 entered the NASCAR All Star race weekend at North Wilkesboro hoping to have a strong race. However, his race was interrupted by an unfortunate incident involving Ricky Stenhouse Jr. on the second lap. The RCR veteran was retaliating against the JTGD Racing driver for a previous incident between the two on the first lap.
The drama didn’t end on the track. After the race, Stenhouse Jr., who failed to finish the race, waited for Kyle Busch outside his hauler. Once they met, they engaged in a heated argument, which escalated to the point where Busch was punched in the face. Ricky Stenhouse Sr. also got involved and it took over a minute to separate everyone.
After the altercation, Stenhouse Jr. spoke to Fox Sports about the incident. When asked about the future of the conflict between him and Busch, he stated that he considers the matter resolved. Light-heartedly, he even suggested the possibility of a charity match between them to potentially raise funds for the NASCAR foundation.
The Chevy No: 47 driver also discussed his history with Kyle Busch, noting that they have been racing aggressively against each other since their time together in the Nationwide Series. He acknowledged that their relationship was good until they had an incident in Daytona, which has been challenging for him.
If the issue between the two drivers is not resolved off the track, their rivalry is likely to continue. Although Stenhouse Jr.’s punch was driven by passion, it may have escalated the situation. Busch will certainly be seeking revenge for the incident.
