Oliver Bearman, the reserve driver for the Ferrari SF-24, made his Formula 1 debut during the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in Jeddah. Despite not making it to the final qualifying round, Bearman delivered an exceptional performance in the race, moving up from 11th to seventh place. He even outperformed his compatriots Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton. Charles Leclerc, a fellow driver, believes it’s only a matter of time before Bearman secures a full-time spot in Formula 1. Leclerc praised Bearman’s impressive skills and expressed confidence in his future success in the sport.
Leclerc, on the other hand, had a strong qualifying session, starting from second position. He managed to fend off an attack from Sergio Perez at the beginning of the race. However, he couldn’t prevent Red Bull from achieving another one-two finish. Despite this, Leclerc was able to secure the extra point for the fastest lap during the final lap of the race. Although he admitted the race was somewhat dull due to Red Bull’s dominance, he was pleased with the maximum points he was able to achieve.
