The NASCAR community was shocked when the pylons were first removed at Texas Motor Speedway, and the decision was met with widespread criticism. Now, before the race weekend at Talladega, the pylons have been removed from the track once again. This caught the attention of Kevin Harvick, the 2014 Cup champion, who expressed his strong opinion on the matter.
Harvick doesn’t understand why the pylons were removed and finds it illogical that NASCAR is asking fans to use an app to track the positions of their favorite drivers during the race. He believes it would be better to bring back the pylons for the fans’ benefit.
Discussing the 2024 season so far, Harvick noted that the battle for supremacy is between Joe Gibbs Racing and Hendrick Motorsports. These two teams have been dominant, winning eight out of the ten races this season.
Harvick hopes that the competition between the Chevy and Toyota giants continues throughout the season, with a driver from one of these teams likely to win the championship. This would mark the end of Team Penske Racing’s dominance in the Next-Gen era.
