Sergio Perez, from Mexico, who races for Red Bull Racing, made a pit stop during the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai, China, on April 21, 2024. However, Horner praised Perez for another strong weekend and for securing a spot on the podium. Despite the result, Horner firmly believes that the two-stop strategy would have been faster than the one-stop strategy. The Safety Car intervention forced them to have a very long final stint and an extra pit stop, which they had to make.
