Fernando Alonso completed the second free practice of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in 11th position. He was the only one who competed this Friday in Yas Marina, after giving the Aston Martin to rookie Felipe Drugovich in FP1.
The two-time champion explained that the situation of having little running time in the night session was not ideal, but it affected everyone equally: ‘I didn’t learn much from FP2. We were unlucky with the two red flags and there wasn’t much action. It’s important to have some practice and FP2 is the only session with conditions that represent qualifying and the race, so we have some work to do, but it’s the same for everyone’.
With that said, Alonso gave a guarantee of maximum commitment until the end of the season: ‘We will try everything to finish the season in a positive way. Anything can happen, as we have seen in the last two rounds. We will fight until the last lap and we will see what we can achieve’.
