Rising Star Zane Smith Gears Up for NASCAR’s Thrilling Debut in Mexico City

With the NASCAR Cup Series revving up for an electrifying race at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City, all eyes are on the drivers and teams gearing up for the unknown challenges that lie ahead.

Zane Smith, fresh off a commendable seventh-place finish at Michigan Int’l Speedway, shared his thoughts on the upcoming Mexico race and his anticipations for the event during a recent conference call. Despite the unique factor of high altitude in Mexico City, Smith remains unfazed, stating, “I feel like I kind of get myself… spun out, but sometimes when it’s a new race weekend like this, I feel like a lot of people try to not overprepare, but do things differently and it just has never worked for me.”

As drivers prepare to tackle the thrilling road course just outside the country, Smith emphasizes the importance of staying focused and approaching the race weekend like any other. Drawing on his extensive road course experience, Smith expresses his excitement for the challenge and the passionate fanbase awaiting them in Mexico City.

Addressing the apprehensions surrounding the Mexico race, Smith dismisses the overreactions within the industry, asserting, “There’s a lot of overreaction from a majority of the industry, and it’s frustrating to hear and deal with.” Drawing parallels to past race weekends that defied expectations, Smith urges a balanced perspective and common-sense approach to ensure a successful and safe event for all involved.

Currently ranked 22nd in the Cup Series standings, Smith reflects on his journey back to Front Row Motorsports, highlighting the team’s dedication to performance and adaptation. Emphasizing the learning curve for rookies in the Cup Series, Smith acknowledges the challenges of navigating a rookie season but remains optimistic about the growth and experience gained through the ups and downs of competitive racing.

As Smith readies himself for the adrenaline-pumping Mexico debut, fans can expect nothing short of a thrilling showcase of skill and determination on the iconic road course. Stay tuned as Zane Smith and the NASCAR elite gear up to conquer new heights and make their mark in Mexico City.
