Brown expressed his satisfaction with McLaren’s recent successes, with the team clinching their fourth victory in five races and both drivers leading the championship standings.
During an interview with Sky Sports F1, Brown did not hold back in his assessment of the incident involving Oscar Piastri and Verstappen at the first corner of the race. He emphatically stated, “I definitely thought the penalty was deserved. Oscar was clearly on the inside, had a better start, and it is necessary to use the race track instead of the escape route. Whether it was a five-second penalty or a position return, I think it could have been either. I thought it was appropriate. It was Oscar’s corner, and at some point, we have to yield.”
