Zak Brown rejeita Adrian Newey para a McLaren após surpreendente saída da Red Bull.

Adrian Newey, the brilliant mind behind F1 aerodynamics, has made the decision to part ways with Red Bull after two impressive decades with the Milton Keynes-based team. The 65-year-old player played a crucial role in the success of the Austrian team over the years. Speculations about Newey’s future endeavors have been circulating, but McLaren’s CEO ensures that the Woking-based team has no interest in acquiring his services.

Zak Brown, McLaren’s boss, expressed contentment with his current technical leadership. He emphasized that Newey remains the most successful F1 designer in history. Furthermore, Brown revealed a strong bond between him and the British genius, as they plan to attend the Monaco Historic Grand Prix together this year.

Brown also admitted his fascination with Newey’s decision to leave Milton Keynes in early 2025. He eagerly awaits to see where the British designer’s path will lead him. There have been rumors that Ferrari is prepared to offer Newey a substantial salary to join the team in Maranello next year.

While Newey’s manager and former F1 team owner suggest that he may take a break after leaving Red Bull, Brown believes that the 65-year-old player will continue to be involved in the world of motorsport. He highlights Newey’s significant contributions to the Aston Martin Valkyrie Hypercar and his desire to triumph at Le Mans.

Furthermore, Brown recalls Newey’s time in IndyCar as a race engineer, especially his successful partnership with Bobby Rahal during his stint at Jaguar F1. Although their friendship suffered a setback when Newey chose not to join Jaguar after negotiations, they eventually reconciled.

Despite being relatively unknown in the IndyCar scene, Newey’s positive relationship with Rahal speaks to his enduring passion for racing. It is highly likely that the 65-year-old player will remain in the F1 paddock or explore other racing categories. However, it wouldn’t be surprising if he took some time to spend with his family before embarking on a new project.
