Zak Brown predicts Oscar Piastri’s glorious rise to F1 champion with McLaren: destiny awaits!

McLaren’s Zak Brown is making bold claims, declaring that Oscar Piastri is destined to become a Formula 1 champion, and he’s not holding back! Following a nail-biting season where Piastri narrowly fell short against teammate Lando Norris, Brown firmly believes that the young Australian will rise to the top in future seasons with McLaren.

The 2025 season was a rollercoaster for Piastri, who fought tooth and nail for the Drivers’ Championship. Despite clinching an impressive victory in Zandvoort and leading the championship standings for a staggering 15 consecutive races, Piastri’s dream slipped through his fingers in the final stretch. A series of setbacks, including a shocking six-race podium drought, allowed Norris to snatch the title right from under his nose during the season finale in Abu Dhabi.

Despite the heartbreak, Brown is unwavering in his confidence. “Oscar is going to be a World Champion,” he proclaimed, igniting hope among McLaren fans. “I’m convinced he’s going to be a World Champion in a McLaren.” Brown emphasized the risk McLaren took in signing both young talents, noting that it paid off in spades. “To have two number one drivers who genuinely enjoy racing each other is a treat,” he added, proudly reflecting on a season filled with fierce competition yet respectful camaraderie.

Norris, who has been Piastri’s teammate since 2023, shares Brown’s sentiments, forecasting a future where his less-experienced counterpart overtakes him on the road to glory. “I feel like I’m a better driver now, certainly, than I was at the beginning of the season,” Norris stated, acknowledging the challenge of racing against an up-and-coming star. “At some point in the future, Oscar will probably beat me and be a World Champion.” The Briton is not just resting on his laurels; he’s committed to improving his performance, keenly aware of the need to evolve in order to fend off the rising star.

As McLaren gears up for another exciting season, the stakes are higher than ever. With Piastri’s fierce determination and Norris’s sharpened skills, fans can expect a thrilling showdown as these two exceptional drivers continue to push each other to their limits. Will Piastri finally capture the elusive title that slipped away this time around? Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure: the McLaren duo is set to make waves in the Formula 1 world!
