Zak Brown stated that the entire Formula 1 paddock was a supporter of MotoGP just weeks after Liberty Media purchased the two-wheeler racing series.

Formula 1 is the highest level of motorsport, especially in terms of four-wheel vehicles. On the other hand, when it comes to racing on two wheels, MotoGP takes the lead. Unfortunately, MotoGP has experienced a decline in recent years. However, the sport is expected to undergo changes following the acquisition by Liberty Media. The CEO of McLaren revealed that many individuals in the Formula 1 paddock are fans of the two-wheeler series.

Earlier this year, Liberty Media, the owner of Formula 1’s commercial rights, acquired MotoGP for a sum of $4.5 billion. This acquisition could lead to the implementation of a new strategy for the two-wheeler series in order to regain momentum in terms of viewership. Additionally, Lewis Hamilton has expressed his interest in potentially purchasing Marc Marquez’s current MotoGP team.

Zak Brown visited the MotoGP grid this weekend for the British GP while Formula 1 is currently on a break. The 52-year-old asserted that everyone in the Formula 1 paddock is a supporter of the two-wheeler category, as it offers some of the most thrilling racing in the world.

Zak Brown: “Everyone in Formula 1 watches MotoGP, we believe it showcases some of the most exciting racing in the world!” 🤩

McLaren has emerged as the primary competitor to Max Verstappen and Red Bull this year. The team based in Woking has closed the gap in the Constructors’ standings due to the inconsistent performances of Sergio Perez. During the MotoGP weekend, Zak Brown confirmed that the fight for the team’s championship was underway and his team had a real chance of winning their first title since 2008.

The year has gotten off to a great start. We are a little over halfway through. The competition for the Constructors’ championship is definitely on… We can achieve that, although a lot of hard work is still required, of course.

Undoubtedly, Zak Brown is making the most of his time away from Formula 1 before things become hectic once again. The team based in Woking has a lot of work ahead of them if they want to avoid making mistakes in their battle against Verstappen. Even Verstappen himself has admitted to losing points on multiple occasions this season. Therefore, fans are hoping to see the British team get back on track in the second half of the 2024 season.
