The Zagato is a prestigious Italian company specializing in the construction and design of automobile bodies, and in its history it has some of the most original models in the world.
This time Zagato decided to surprise by presenting FuoriConcorso, in Lake Como, Italy, the AGTZ Twin Tail, a model based on the Alpine A110, which will have a limited edition of only 19 units that will be built in collaboration with the Polish supercar dealer La Squadra. The stunning design model is inspired by the 1960s Alpine A220, featuring a short and long tail. The most surprising point is that the long section can be removed, and according to Top Gear, it only takes five minutes to put on or remove the longer section.
In addition to the rear section, the Italian preparer also equipped this AGTZ Twin Tail with a body made up of carbon fiber components, including a new front panel with new air intakes, as well as a custom hood and a signature lighting with larger headlights.
Zagato has already announced that the AGTZ Twin Tail has a price of €650,000 before taxes, and features the same mechanics as the Alpine A100, that is, a 1.8-liter, turbocharged, four-cylinder engine paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. In addition, Zagato states that the 19 units it will produce of this model can be tuned to produce a power output of 300 hp.
Justifying the high price of this AGTX Twin Tail is the 1000 hours that Zagato claims are necessary to build and assemble each unit of this French-inspired sports car.
