Yuki Tsunoda’s Struggle Against Max Verstappen Unveiled in Jeddah Qualifying

In a surprising turn of events at the Jeddah qualifying session, Yuki Tsunoda found himself grappling with the challenging dynamics of the RB21, trailing behind his teammate Max Verstappen. The young Red Bull driver, who secured the 8th position for the 2025 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, expressed his frustration with the unpredictability of the car.

Tsunoda disclosed to reporters the difficulties he faced while trying to push the RB21 to its limits, citing a “massive snap in turn 4” that hindered his performance. Despite his previous confidence in driving Red Bull cars over the past four seasons, Tsunoda admitted to struggling with the current model, unable to exploit its full potential.

Having been thrust into the Red Bull team just three weeks ago at the 2025 Japanese Grand Prix, Tsunoda acknowledged the steep learning curve ahead of him. He highlighted the need to adapt to the “unpredictable” nature of the car and draw inspiration from Verstappen’s adeptness in handling different driving conditions.

Furthermore, Tsunoda reflected on the impact of setup changes on his performance, noting a discrepancy in his comfort level as track conditions evolved. The Japanese driver recognized the necessity of fine-tuning his approach to match the shifting demands of the circuit, especially as temperatures fluctuated.

As Tsunoda continues to acclimate to the challenges posed by the RB21, all eyes are on his progress and ability to narrow the gap to Verstappen. Will he overcome the hurdles and emerge as a formidable contender on the track? Stay tuned for more updates on this gripping Formula 1 saga.
