Yuki Tsunoda’s Struggles Continue at Red Bull: Fails to Score Points in 5 Consecutive Races

Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda finds himself in a dire situation at Red Bull, as he has now equaled a disappointing record within the team. Following his lackluster performance at the British Grand Prix, Tsunoda has become the first driver since Mark Webber in 2009 to go five consecutive races without scoring any points.

Since his promotion from AlphaTauri before the Japanese Grand Prix, Tsunoda has been facing a challenging start to his career at Red Bull. Out of the 10 races he has participated in, he has only managed to secure seven points, with his last top 10 finish being in Imola where he crossed the line in 10th place. Furthermore, he has been eliminated in Q1 in three out of the last six events, indicating ongoing struggles with performance.

Despite Red Bull’s decision to replace Liam Lawson with Tsunoda, the team continues to grapple with issues surrounding their second driver. In the past four races, the Scuderia AlphaTauri F1 team has outperformed the Austrian outfit in terms of points. Tsunoda’s 15th place finish at the British Grand Prix has tied him with Webber’s record from 2009 of five consecutive races without scoring points, marking one of the lowest points for any Red Bull driver.

At Silverstone, Tsunoda failed to make it to Q3, while his teammate, the four-time world champion, clinched a surprising pole position. Red Bull’s consultant, Helmut Marko, has stated that there are no plans for a second driver change at the moment. However, there are growing concerns about how long the team is willing to tolerate Tsunoda’s difficulties on track.
