Yuki Tsunoda reveals shocking truth: Red Bull contract silences F1 star from rival talks

Yuki Tsunoda Exposes Shocking Contract Restrictions Keeping Him from Rival Teams!

In a stunning revelation that has sent shockwaves through the Formula 1 community, Yuki Tsunoda, the recently axed Red Bull driver, has come forward to disclose that a restrictive contract barred him from exploring opportunities with rival teams. As the motorsport world gears up for the 2026 season, Tsunoda finds himself in a precarious position as Red Bull’s test and reserve driver, following the team’s decision to elevate Isack Hadjar to the main lineup and give young prodigy Arvid Lindblad a chance with the Racing Bulls.

Despite his undeniable talent, Tsunoda struggled to adapt to the precise setup required to match the driving style of reigning champion Max Verstappen. This struggle often left Red Bull fielding just one competitive car, a situation that raised eyebrows among fans and analysts alike.

In a candid interview prior to the 2025 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Tsunoda openly expressed his frustration over the lack of interest from other teams. “Well, I didn’t have options, the thing is my contract was there so I couldn’t do much,” he lamented. “I had some interest externally but yeah, the contract didn’t really allow me to talk with them. That’s why I was fully focused on the Red Bull season; it was my priority for the last few years to be in the Red Bull family because it’s the place where I grew up as well.”

The emotional fallout from Tsunoda’s departure was palpable as he recounted the moment he received the crushing news. It was none other than former chief Helmut Marko who personally delivered the blow. “I’m disappointed obviously and pd off,” Tsunoda revealed. “How I was told – it was right after the race, from Helmut privately, that I’m not going to race next year so I think that’s it. But surprisingly I’m okay… I mean not okay, but like I’m surviving okay.”

In a moment of stark vulnerability, Tsunoda described the aftermath of the news. “The day after, the morning I ordered breakfast as usual, same food. Probably I’m not recognizing enough that it will be the last race for this year or at least for next year so maybe I’ll feel more after Abu Dhabi, but yeah, that’s how it went and how I feel now.”

This dramatic turn of events raises critical questions about the treatment of drivers within the high-stakes world of Formula 1. As Tsunoda gears up for a new role, the motorsport community watches closely, wondering how this will impact his future and the dynamics within the Red Bull team. Will he rise from the ashes, or will this setback define his career? One thing is for certain: the upcoming season will be one to watch as the drama unfolds!
