Red Bull F1 Team Faces Double Trouble as FIA Hands Out Punishments in Austrian GP

In a shocking turn of events at the Austrian Grand Prix, the FIA delivered a crushing blow to the Red Bull Racing Team, leaving one of its drivers facing a double punishment. While reigning champion Max Verstappen was forced out of the race early on, it was his teammate Yuki Tsunoda who bore the brunt of the FIA’s penalty at the Spielberg circuit.

Despite a disastrous race weekend for Red Bull on their home track, with Tsunoda finishing in a disappointing P16, the real drama unfolded when the Japanese driver collided with Franco Colapinto on lap 31. Tsunoda attempted an ill-fated overtake maneuver on Colapinto at Turn 4, resulting in contact between the two cars. The consequences were dire for Tsunoda as he was handed a 10-second time penalty and two penalty points by the FIA stewards.

The FIA’s verdict on the incident was crystal clear, stating that Tsunoda was entirely at fault for the collision and did not have the right to the corner. Despite the penalty not affecting his finishing position, Tsunoda now carries four penalty points on his license, adding to Red Bull’s woes.

With this latest setback, Red Bull’s hopes were further dampened as they witnessed one of their drivers accumulating penalty points, while a glimmer of relief came in the form of two of Verstappen’s penalty points expiring. The team must now regroup and strategize to avoid future mishaps as the intense battle for the championship unfolds.

The Austrian Grand Prix proved to be a rollercoaster of emotions for the Red Bull Racing Team, underscoring the unforgiving nature of Formula 1 racing. As the dust settles from this dramatic race weekend, all eyes will be on Red Bull as they aim to bounce back stronger in the upcoming races.
