Yazeed Al Rajhi was the fastest in the fourth stage of the Dakar, held this Wednesday between Al Henakiyah and Al’Ula, with a total of 415km timed.

Aboard a Toyota from Overdrive Racing, Al Rajhi set the pace since the early kilometers, eventually beating Henk Lategan (Toyota) by 4m51s. Juan Cruz Yacopini (Overdrive Racing/Toyota) didn’t have the pace of the top two, finishing third, more than ten minutes behind.

He was followed by Martin Prokop (Orlen Jipocar Team/Ford) and Denis Krotov (X-Raid MINI). Toby Price (Overdrive Racing/Toyota) was also in contention for the top spots but suffered a puncture that ruined his chances.

Nasser Al-Attiyah was also struck by misfortune. The Qatari from The Dacia Sandriders had to stop twice due to problems and finished 19th, more than half an hour behind the leader.

In the overall standings, Lategan remains the leader, now with a margin of 6m54s over Al Rajhi. Mattias Ekström (Ford M-Sport) is currently the biggest surprise in third place, with Mathieu Serradori (Century) in fourth and Lucas Moraes (Toyota) in fifth. Al-Attiyah has dropped to sixth place and is 35m53s behind the leader.
