XPeng revealed that it delivered over 10,000 units of the new G7 electric SUV in the Chinese market in just 41 days after the model’s launch in early July.
The new five-seater SUV from the leading Chinese electric vehicle brand in Artificial Intelligence mobility and high technology measures 4.89 meters in length, 1.92 meters in width, 1.65 meters in height, and has a wheelbase of 2.89 meters. It is equipped with a 292 hp electric motor on the rear axle, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds.
To power the electric motor, there are two battery options available: one with 68.5 kWh for a range of 602 km in the generous Chinese CLTC cycle, and an 80.8 kWh capacity battery for a range of 702 km.
The entry-level version of the XPeng G7 is equipped with two Nvidia Drive Orin chips with 508 TOPS. However, the top-of-the-line version offers three Turing AI chips, developed by XPeng with 2250 TOPS, which represents a significant technological leap considering that the ADAS chip of the Xiaomi YU7 offers 700 TOPS, and the Tesla Model Y has a chip with 720 TOPS.
Officials from XPeng stated that the new G7 is the world’s first production vehicle powered by artificial intelligence, equipped with an L3-level computing platform.
The G7’s cabin features an 87” augmented reality head-up display, along with a 15.6” floating touchscreen equipped with the Snapdragon 8295 chip.
Another highlight of the G7’s interior is a sound system with 20 speakers, as well as a 9” rearview mirror with data transmission and a glove compartment with a capacity of 5.9 liters that opens with a code.
