Xpeng and Huawei have announced the development of a new augmented reality head-up display system, called “Chasing Light Panorama,” designed for Xpeng’s future electric SUV, the G7.
The system integrates Huawei’s hardware with Xpeng’s software, offering enhanced navigation and driver assistance features. The new head-up display system features a panoramic image of 87’’ capable of projecting information across multiple lanes and covering eight distinct driving scenarios.
The system combines optical algorithms, optical systems, and components from Huawei with Xpeng’s image modules and augmented reality composition engine, overlaying digital navigation onto the real-world view to assist the driver’s decision-making and enhance safety.
Note that Xpeng has already announced it will open the pre-sale period for the new G7 in China next week, on June 11, with the first deliveries expected in the third quarter.
