Xiaomi has just revealed the first images of the new YU7 SUV, the second model from the telecommunications giant, following the SU7.
The new 100% electric model, which is expected to hit the Chinese market in mid-2025, measures 4.99 meters in length, 1.99 m in width, and 1.60 m in height. The wheelbase is 3.0 meters.
Xiaomi has not revealed the interior of this new YU7, but it would not be surprising if it features a 16.1’’ screen, which the brand equipped the SU7 with, and offers screens for rear-seat passengers.
Like the SU7, the new SUV from Xiaomi is expected to utilize a lot of technology, particularly highlighting the LiDAR sensor mounted on the roof, indicating it is equipped with autonomous driving technology.
In terms of powertrain, according to data released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China (MIIT), the YU7 will be equipped with a dual-motor configuration, featuring a front motor with 295 hp, paired with a rear motor generating 386 hp, resulting in a combined power output of 681 hp.
The two electric motors will be powered by CATL batteries; however, Xiaomi has not yet disclosed the specifications of the battery.
What is already known is that the new Yu7 will be produced at Xiaomi’s factory in Beijing, where the SU7 is manufactured, and the launch of the SUV is scheduled for mid-2025.
