Xiaomi has announced the opening of orders for the new SU7 Ultra in China, a supercar set to launch in the local market on October 19. Goldman Sachs has already revealed that the high-performance model from Xiaomi will be priced at 800,000 yuan, which is approximately €104,000.
Presented by the brand’s CEO, Lei Jun, in July, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Prototype is the most advanced electric vehicle from the tech giant. Based on the SU7, the track-oriented version features a three-motor system, with two HyperEngine V8 motors and one V6 motor, providing a combined power of 1547 hp, and all indications suggest that the production version will allow acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.97 seconds and reach a top speed of 350 km/h.
The production version of Xiaomi’s supercar will not feature the carbon fiber body that the prototype had; however, it is already known that the three electric motors will be powered by a high-power Qilin 2.0 battery pack from CATL, developed for competition, with a discharge power of 1330 kW. The architecture is 897V, enabling over 880 kW with just 20% charge.
Additionally, the battery includes a dual-surface cooling system, increasing efficiency by 60%, which is crucial for high-speed driving.
Recall that recently Xiaomi tested the SU7 Ultra on the track at Nürburgring Nordschleife, in Germany; however, rain ended up postponing the Chinese brand’s plans to achieve a record lap time for a 100% electric model.
What is certain is that the production version of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is expected to be launched in early 2025, and its combination of power, advanced battery technology, and design positions the model as a competitive offering in the high-performance electric vehicle market.
