The Nissan decided to take the e-4ORCE technology to the European ski slopes this winter, with the creation of a concept car X-Trail, which is ready to face any challenge in the snow.
In this way, the Japanese brand transformed the well-known X-Trail SUV into a vehicle that had its wheels replaced by tracks, which allow for safe traction on slippery slopes, while the rear seats were removed to allow the installation of a stretcher for transporting the injured.
On the outside, this radical version of the X-Trail features a customized roof bar for carrying a stretcher, as well as a set of snow shovels, as well as lights on the hood. In addition, Nissan has integrated wider fenders in this more radical version, both in the front and rear, while the front bumper has been improved to carry a winch. This snow monster is also equipped with side steps to facilitate access to the interior, since this version of the X-Trail is 23 cm taller than the road version.
Although this concept car X-Trail was created with the aim of contributing to a responsible skiing campaign, the model is seen by Nissan as a showcase of e-4ORCE technology, and in this sense, the Japanese brand says that the model can “react to changes in grip levels in 1/10,000 of a second”, which is “approximately 1000 times faster than a traditional all-wheel drive system, and can adjust power distribution to individual wheels according to available grip”.
