May 30-31, 2024. Misano Adriatico (ITA) – WorldSBK Private Test. ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team. , BMW M 1000 RR, Toprak Razgatlıoğlu #54 (TUR).
Toprak Razgatlioglu, from ROKiT BMW Motorrad, has set an ambitious goal to triumph in all three World Superbikes races at the Misano circuit in Emilia Romagna, Italy, this weekend.
The Turkish rider surprised the WorldSBK paddock last year when he announced his departure from the Pata Prometeon Yamaha team to join BMW in 2024.
Although BMW has faced challenges in recent years, the team has made a strong comeback and is now a serious championship title contender, with Razgatlioglu already securing three wins this season.
With just six points behind championship leader Alvaro Bautista, Razgatlioglu aims to double his number of victories in 2024 at Misano.
“I believe we are well prepared to reach the podium, as long as we don’t encounter obstacles,” said the 2021 World Champion.
“After a successful test, I feel confident in our strength. My goal for the weekend is to achieve three wins, although races always present different challenges. We will see. I will give my maximum effort and approach the races with a positive mindset.”
Razgatlioglu acknowledged that he is still dealing with an injury suffered during a training incident before last month’s Misano test, where he emerged as the fastest rider on the grid.
“I still feel some discomfort in my shoulder due to an accident prior to the test,” he revealed.
“Although I was only able to complete a few laps, overall, I feel good. On Friday, we will immediately go for a race simulation to evaluate our performance.
“Overall, I am highly optimistic and mentally prepared for the races. I am looking forward to the weekend.”
The Sports Director of BMW Motorrad Motorsport, Marc Bongers, shares the confidence of his star rider as they approach Misano after almost two months of racing hiatus.
In the previous race in Assen, Razgatlioglu achieved a second place and a victory, while his teammate, Michael van der Mark, also showed promise with three top-10 finishes, demonstrating the strength of the BMW package.
“After the extended break, we are looking forward to resuming the WorldSBK season in Misano,” expressed Bongers.
“Our performance in the first three events of this year has been exceptional. After successful tests for the Bonovo action BMW Racing team in Cremona and for the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK team in Misano, we are highly optimistic about the upcoming race weekend.
“Furthermore, Misano has been a track where we have achieved success in the past. We will do our best to show the strength of our entire team on the Adriatic coast and earn valuable points for the world championship.”
