The GTI Festival, dedicated to VW sports car enthusiasts, takes place this year at the VW Arena from July 26th to 28th in Wolfsburg, Germany.
The annual event that attracted thousands of people to Wörthersee, Austria, did not take place in 2023, after the city of Maria Wörth, where the event had been held since 1982, decided to oppose the event due to its lack of sustainability and tranquility.
“I am particularly pleased that we are holding the first major GTI gathering in a new format in Wolfsburg, exactly 50 years after the first Golf came off the assembly line. GTI community, Golf, and Wolfsburg – it’s the perfect combination!”, said Thomas Schäfer, CEO of VW.
In addition to vehicle presentations, shows, and club meetings, VW promises many surprises over three days for GTI and brand fans, inspired by the meeting’s motto “Icons returning home,”
Among the surprises may be some new sports cars, as the German brand had been using the GTI Festival to showcase special sports editions.
