Williams unveils new design for 2024 in NYC.

Williams Racing FW46 Formula 1 World Championship, Season Launch Studio Shoot, 5th February 2024, Grove, Wantage, England

Williams has unveiled the design for its 2024 car during a season launch event in New York City. The team’s new partnership with Puma was also announced, with Puma now supplying teamwear, driver clothing, and apparel. The livery, which pays homage to the team’s British heritage with a red and white pinstripe, was revealed during a globally live-streamed event. However, the actual car, the FW46, was not on display and will only be seen for the first time during a filming day in Bahrain on February 20.

During the launch event, Williams also announced a new partnership with Komatsu, a Japanese industrial equipment manufacturer. This marks Komatsu’s return to working with the team, as they previously partnered in the 1990s.

Team principal James Vowles expressed his excitement about unveiling the 2024 livery in New York City, calling it a significant milestone. He highlighted the team’s focus on the FW46 and the ongoing effort to deliver a competitive car for the upcoming season. Vowles praised drivers Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant, stating that they have the potential to consistently fight for points and contribute to the team’s development.

Reflecting on the progress made in the previous season, Vowles acknowledged the challenges faced by the team but also celebrated their seventh-place finish in the constructors’ championship. He emphasized the team’s commitment to building a strong foundation for the future, both on and off the track. Vowles mentioned plans for infrastructure improvements, investing in their personnel, and attracting new partners like Komatsu.

While acknowledging that there is still a long way to go, Vowles expressed gratitude for the support of fans, partners, and everyone at Grove HQ. He emphasized the collective effort to create new history for the iconic team and looked forward to the upcoming season.

Last season saw Williams make significant progress under new team principal Vowles, finishing ahead of AlphaTauri, Alfa Romeo, and Haas in the constructors’ championship.
