Williams rockets to 5th place in F1: astonishing 120-point surge leaves rivals reeling

Williams Racing Surges to Unprecedented Heights: A Jaw-Dropping 120-Point Jump!

In an electrifying twist of fate, Williams Racing has catapulted itself back into the spotlight of Formula 1, achieving a staggering increase of 120 points compared to the dismal 2024 season. As the dust settles on the latest championship, the Grove-based team has emerged victorious in a dramatic resurgence, finishing fifth in the Constructors’ Championship—its highest position since 2016.

But the question on everyone’s lips: What’s behind this remarkable turnaround? While Williams has soared, only McLaren has outshined them, showcasing a phenomenal performance that has left competitors in the dust. The reigning champions not only retained their title but improved their standing by an impressive 167 points from the previous season, thanks to the sensational driving of former Ferrari star Carlos Sainz, who graced the podium twice.

In stark contrast, the iconic Scuderia Ferrari has plunged into chaos. Once the reigning vice-champions, they now find themselves floundering at a disheartening fourth place, with a mere 398 points—a massive drop of 254 points from the previous year. The SF-25, piloted exclusively by Charles Leclerc, managed to secure podium finishes in seven races, yet failed to clinch a single victory. Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton, in his inaugural year with Ferrari, couldn’t even break into the top three, leaving fans in disbelief.

Further compounding Ferrari’s woes, Red Bull Racing has also seen a decline, finishing ahead of Ferrari but still below expectations. Alpine, however, has suffered the most, languishing at the bottom of the rankings with a mere 22 points—43 points fewer than their lackluster showing in 2024.

On a more positive note, Mercedes continued to display a commendable level of consistency, securing the vice-champion title this season despite finishing fourth last year. Their performance remained nearly identical, gaining just one extra point compared to 2024. Adding to the drama, Sauber has experienced a meteoric rise, skyrocketing from just 4 points in 2024 to a formidable 70 points in the latest season.

As the 2025 season closes, the narrative of Formula 1 is shifting. With Williams reclaiming its place among the elite and Ferrari’s fall from grace, the upcoming season promises to be one for the history books. Will Williams continue their ascent, or will Ferrari find a way to reclaim their former glory? One thing is for sure: the battle for supremacy in Formula 1 is heating up, and fans are on the edge of their seats!
