Due to the delayed construction of the FW46, Williams Racing will not have a spare chassis available until the sixth round of the season in Miami. This was a result of Alex Albon’s significant crash during the first practice session in Australia, leaving Williams with only one car for the race.
Initially, Williams planned to have the spare car ready for the race in China, but the repair of the damaged chassis took longer than expected. As a result, Logan Sargeant, who did not participate in the race, will receive the repaired chassis, while Albon will continue to use the chassis he raced with in Australia.
Sargeant expressed that, although the lack of a spare chassis is a challenge, it does not change the approach of the Williams drivers. He emphasized the need for commitment and confidence in Formula 1, as being cautious would lead to mediocrity. Despite the circumstances, the team remains determined to perform at their best and hope for a trouble-free race.
