Williams F1 Racing Exposed: “Nasty” Secrets Threaten Success Despite Strong Season Start
Williams F1 team may be celebrating its best start in nine years, but behind the scenes, Technical Director James Vowles is sounding the alarm on some “nasty elements” lurking within the team’s package. Despite sitting in fifth place in the constructors’ championship with 54 points, the team is not in the clear yet.
Vowles pointed out that even though the team’s performance has vastly improved with the FW47 machine compared to its predecessor, there are still lingering issues, particularly in high-speed corners, as demonstrated in the recent Spanish Grand Prix weekend.
While praising the progress made by the team and the contributions of their talented drivers, Vowles admitted, “We haven’t eliminated all of the nasty elements that are in our car.” This revelation raises concerns about the team’s ability to maintain its current momentum throughout the season.
Looking ahead, Vowles emphasized the team’s focus on the 2026 season, despite the promising start in 2025. He revealed that the 2026 car project is already underway, with a clean slate approach to address past shortcomings and implement significant improvements.
As Williams F1 continues to navigate the challenges on and off the track, the spotlight remains on their performance and the relentless pursuit of excellence in the highly competitive world of Formula 1.
