Oliver Oakes’ Brother Faces Criminal Trial for Possession of Criminal Property

Former F1 Boss’ Brother Faces Criminal Trial Over Huge Sum of Cash

A bombshell has hit the F1 community as the brother of former Alpine F1 team principal Oliver Oakes is gearing up for a high-stakes criminal trial in April 2027. The trial stems from shocking charges of possessing a massive amount of criminal property in the form of cold, hard cash.

Oliver Oakes made headlines when he abruptly stepped down from his role as the head of the Alpine team on May 6, just after the Miami Grand Prix. This surprising move came in the wake of the arrest and detention of his brother, William Oakes, by the Metropolitan Police in the Silverstone Park region of Northamptonshire.

In a dramatic turn of events, William Oakes appeared in court not once but twice before the Northampton Crown Court. During these appearances, he vehemently pleaded not guilty to all the charges against him and then made a bold request for bail pending the trial. Much to everyone’s surprise, Judge Adrienne Lucking granted William Oakes bail, setting the stage for a legal showdown in April 2027.

The accusations against William Oakes are grave, as he stands accused of possessing a jaw-dropping amount of criminally obtained cash. The prosecution alleges that he had in his possession a staggering £831,885, €46,120, and $10,000 in ill-gotten gains.

Adding fuel to the fire, recent reports indicate that William Oakes has also relinquished his position as a director of Hitech Grand Prix, as per publicly available records on Companies House.

The unfolding saga involving the Oakes brothers has sent shockwaves through the F1 world, leaving many questions unanswered and the racing community in disbelief. Stay tuned as this gripping story continues to develop, with more twists and turns expected along the way.
