Revolution in NASCAR as Mexico City hosts historic race weekend

In a groundbreaking move, the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season heads to Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City for Round 16, marking the first points-paying Cup race outside of the United States since 1958. This historic event promises high-octane action and fierce competition like never seen before.

The current leader, William Byron, dominates the regular season standings, sitting 41 points ahead of his Hendrick Motorsports teammate, Kyle Larson. The most recent victor, Denny Hamlin, is set to defend his title after a stunning win at Michigan, bringing an extra layer of intensity to the upcoming race weekend.

Adding to the excitement, the Xfinity Series will also grace Mexico City, with three Mexican-born drivers set to make their mark on the track. Daniel Suarez, along with Andres Perez De Lara and Ruben Rovelo, champions in their own right, will be making their debut at this prestigious event.

But that’s not all – in a jaw-dropping announcement, Ram confirms its return to the NASCAR Truck Series, igniting further anticipation and suspense among racing enthusiasts. NASCAR officials hint at securing a fifth manufacturer, hinting at a major shift in the landscape of the sport.

The schedule for the NASCAR weekend at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez is jam-packed with thrilling events:
– NASCAR Cup practice sessions on PRIME VIDEO
– NASCAR Xfinity practice sessions on THE CW APP
– NASCAR Mexico Series races on YOUTUBE
– Qualifying rounds for both Xfinity and Cup Series
– The main events featuring the NASCAR Xfinity Series race and the NASCAR Cup Series race

With 37 entries for the Cup race, including the open entry for Katherine Legge driving the No. 78 Live Fast Motorsports Chevrolet, the competition is set to be fierce and unpredictable. Legge, following her impressive Cup Series debut at Phoenix, is ready to take on the challenge once again.

Don’t miss this historic moment in NASCAR history as Mexico City becomes the epicenter of racing excellence and adrenaline-pumping action. Gear up for a weekend like no other, filled with speed, skill, and the thrill of victory.
