Will Power Dominates, Claims 71st Pole; Chevrolet Locks Front Row

Will Power dominates IndyCar Gateway Qualifying with Record 71st Pole Position

In a thrilling display of speed and skill, Will Power claimed pole position at World Wide Technology Raceway, securing his 71st pole in IndyCar and solidifying his dominance in the series. The qualifying session saw Power outshine his Team Penske teammate Scott McLaughlin, setting the stage for an intense race ahead.

The qualifying results showcased Power’s exceptional talent, with the top five grid positions all occupied by Chevrolet drivers. This strong showing bodes well for Team Penske, who are eager to secure their first victory of the season at the short oval race.

Despite his impressive performance in qualifying, championship leader Alex Palou will have to fight his way through the field from the fifth row in Sunday’s race. Another standout driver of the season, Kyle Kirkwood, will also start from the same row, promising an exciting battle for the lead.

As the sun sets on Saturday, teams will have one final practice session to fine-tune their setups before the highly anticipated race on Sunday evening at 7:00 PM central time. Fans can expect a thrilling showdown as the drivers compete for victory on the challenging oval track.

The qualifying results are as follows:
1. Will Power – 00:49.9088 (180.329 mph)
2. Scott McLaughlin – 00:50.0603 (179.783 mph)
3. Pato O’Ward – 00:50.2261 (179.190 mph)
4. David Malukas – 00:50.2572 (179.079 mph)
5. Josef Newgarden – 00:50.3046 (178.910 mph)

The stage is set for an adrenaline-pumping race at IndyCar Gateway, with Will Power leading the charge and his competitors hot on his heels. Stay tuned for all the action and drama as the drivers battle for supremacy on the iconic oval track.
