Wickens Defies Odds and Overcomes Challenges in Thrilling Long Beach IMSA Debut

#36: DXDT Racing, Corvette Z06 GT3.R, GTD: Robert Wickens, Tommy Milner

Robert Wickens made a thunderous debut at the Long Beach IMSA race, and despite facing challenges, he is determined to rise above and conquer. Racing alongside Tommy Milner in the No. 36 DXDT Racing Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R, Wickens faced setbacks but showcased his unwavering spirit and skill on the track.

From a disappointing 15th place finish in the GTD class, Wickens remained resilient, focusing on the positives of the weekend. Despite having his fastest lap deleted during qualifying and encountering a collision that affected their grid position, Wickens remained proud of the team’s efforts.

With his eyes set on victory, Wickens tackled the track with vigor, demonstrating remarkable pace and determination. Despite a clash with a BMW that led to rear bodywork damage and a pit stop for repairs, Wickens and Milner fought valiantly to climb back up the ranks.

Wickens’ performance was nothing short of impressive, setting the fastest time among GTD drivers and showcasing his prowess behind the wheel. His ability to adapt to the hand-control system in the Corvette Z06 GT3.R at a challenging circuit like Long Beach highlighted his skill and tenacity.

Looking ahead, Wickens remains optimistic and determined to continue pushing boundaries in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. With the support of DXDT Racing and his unwavering passion for racing, Wickens is set to leave a mark on the upcoming races, proving that he belongs among the racing elite.

As Wickens basks in the glory of coaching Kyle Kirkwood to victory in the IndyCar Series event at Long Beach, his sights are already set on the next challenge at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. With his indomitable spirit and drive for success, Wickens is a force to be reckoned with on the track.

Stay tuned as Wickens gears up for another adrenaline-fueled race, ready to showcase his talent and determination in pursuit of victory.
