The Regulatory Authority for Energy Services (ERSE) revealed that the average weekly price of fuels decreased compared to last week, by 0.4% for gasoline and 1.7% for diesel.
According to the ERSE report, the efficient price has been updated, “taking into account the weekly variation in international quotations for regular 95 gasoline at -0.1% and for regular diesel at -3.5%.”
Thus, “for the week of January 1st to 7th, the Preço Eficiente before taxes is €0.774 per liter for regular 95 gasoline and €0.851 for regular diesel. After taxes, the Preço Eficiente is €1.663 per liter for regular 95 gasoline and €1.592.”
It should be noted that the efficient price “is a weekly average price determined by the ERSE and results from the sum of the following components: fuel prices in international reference markets and their maritime freight, primary logistics, including strategic and security reserves of the National Oil System, additional costs for the incorporation of biofuels, and the retail component increased by the respective taxes.”
Regarding the previous week, the report states that “the average of the Prices Advertised to the Public on the signs, reported in the Single Energy Counter, was 3.1 cents per liter above the Preço Eficiente for that week, in the case of regular 95 gasoline, and 3.8 cents above in the case of regular diesel.”
In percentage terms, “regular 95 gasoline was advertised on the signs 1.9% above the Preço Eficiente and regular diesel was 2.3% above,” according to the report.
