The official entry list for the 2024 World Endurance Championship (WEC) season has been announced, with several new additions. The grid will feature 37 permanent cars, 19 of which will be in the top category (Hypercar), and a total of 14 manufacturers including the 18 that will be in the new LMGT3 class.
Among the Hypercars, a third Ferrari 499P delivered to AF Corse is a highlight, with Robert Kubica as one of the drivers. Isotta Fraschini is the big newcomer among the manufacturers, fielding one car. As previously known, Alpine, BMW M Team WRT (with two cars), and Lamborghini Iron Lynx (with one car) are also joining.
Hertz Team JOTA expands its lineup to two Porsches, so the German manufacturer will have a total of five cars present (two official and one delivered to Proton). The projects of Floyd Vanwal and Glickenhaus come to an end, without any surprises. Toyota defends the titles, once again, with two cars.
As for the LMGT3, there will be 18 cars. McLaren joins the WEC with United Autosports entering two 720S GT3 Evo. Lexus will have two cars in Akkodis ASP and Ford will be present with two Mustangs from Proton Competition. Aston Martin, Corvette, Ferrari, and Porsche are still involved, along with BMW with two M4 GT3s from Team WRT, and Lamborghini with two Huracaán GT3 Evo2 under the care of Iron Dames and Iron Lynx.
