Watch: Max Verstappen criticizes McLaren’s orange color as unattractive compared to his own ‘Orange Army’.

Max Verstappen didn’t hold back on making jokes about McLaren at the Austrian GP. During an interview, he casually commented on the colors of McLaren compared to his own fan base, who were cheering from the opposite side of the grandstand.

Verstappen expressed his excitement for Red Bull’s home race, praising the incredible fans wearing orange in the stands and the amazing atmosphere they created. He emphasized the overwhelming support he always receives at the event, highlighting the enthusiasm and energy his fans bring to the race weekend.

The Dutch driver pointed to the fans on his right and called them “good orange.” He was referring to the fans wearing orange, who were creating a positive and energetic atmosphere at the event. However, Verstappen jokingly noticed the McLaren’s papaya orange presence behind him and called it “ugly.”

Max Verstappen had an exceptional performance during qualifying and the Sprint race of the Austrian GP. When asked if he felt unbeatable after securing pole position and a strong performance in the Sprint race, he acknowledged that the weekend had been promising so far but remained cautious about the challenges ahead. Verstappen recognized that tire degradation could be a problem for them in the main race, reflecting a balanced optimism about their achievements and the obstacles they still faced.

Verstappen mentioned the hot weather and highlighted the need to take care of the tires due to the high temperature. He expressed optimism in maintaining the same good balance they found during qualifying for Sunday’s race. The Dutch driver emphasized the importance of maintaining balance in hot conditions for good tire management and a strong race.

When asked if he felt unstoppable after securing pole position and performing well in the Sprint race, Verstappen responded by saying: “Well, let’s see. So far, it has been a very good weekend. I still expect it to be a tough race with degradation.” Despite his confidence, Verstappen acknowledged the challenges that awaited him in the race.

Max Verstappen’s confidence was evident as he had already proven himself to be the best at the Red Bull Ring in previous races. The stands were filled with orange, showing their support for Red Bull and Verstappen, who were eager for a victory in Sunday’s Austrian GP.
